Baby Whit - 13 weeks, 5 days - The Heartbeat!

We had a regular check-up today at 13 weeks, 5 days - everything looks good so far! I brought my camera to capture the heartbeat - it sounds slightly different in-person, but this gives you an idea of how wonderful it is to hear the baby's heartbeat! Sincerely, the best sound I've ever heard!
Mom is happy to be entering the second trimester! Six months to go :)

Rich's Birthday Gift to Kris

For my birthday this year, Rich surprised me with tickets to the Zach Brown band and Little Big Town at the 9:30 club in DC! First he took me out to dinner at Cafe Nema on U Street where we had some fantastic Mediterranean food, and I enjoyed some hot lemon water (they were lacking non-caffeinated hot drinks). On our walk to the 9:30 club we stopped for a yummy Grande of hot chocolate at starbucks! This was a key purchase since we had to wait in a long line in the cold to get in - it turned out to go by very quickly, but I was thrilled to have yummy hot chocolate! Little Big Town played our wedding song - it was fantastic! I took a video of the live performance of our wedding song and I have included it below... enjoy! Thanks hubby!

Whitney Family Addition!

We are excited to share our exciting news! Rich and I are expecting our first baby on August 21, 2009! As of February 11, 2009 - I am 12 weeks and 6 days along (almost out of the first trimester!). We have decided to find out the sex of the baby - which will happen around week 20 (Beginning of April).

We found out on December 19, 2008 that we are expecting - which made hiding our news hard around the holidays! I drank a lot of non-alcoholic beer to fool friends.

We had our first trimester genetic disorder testing on February 9, 2009 - so far the doctor says everything looks good! The baby's heart rate is strong at 155 bpm. It is so much fun to see our little bean swimming around :) The picture you see here is from that sonogram - a close-up of our baby's profile.
